Quote from: hlliwmai on April 03, 2023, 10:55:27 PMI had heard that Redditch Streetlites (30165-68) and (32212-19) are transferring to Tividale at some point as I think *some* of those are actually Euro 6 so it would make sense if that were the case
Not that I've heard, and they are all Euro 5. 16 plate & onwards are Euro 6.

@winston

I've just looked on the Clean Air Zone Checker

30165 and 30167 are Euro 6 (therefore exempt from the £50 Charge) as are the following vehicles listed below so this would explain what I heard that they're transferring to Tividale as extra Euro 6 vehicles

32212 (No Charge)
32213 (No Charge)
32215 (No Charge)
32216 (No Charge)
32217 (No Charge)
32218 (No Charge)
32219 (No Charge)

None of those are Euro 6. They're all Euro 5.

Not according to Rotala's fleetlist they're not. They are stated as Euro 5 & I don't believe they've been retro fitted as Euro 6 either, you never see any of those in Birmingham on the 50 from Redditch depot.

To be fair to hlliwmai, I've just checked 4 of the vehicles in that list on the Government clean air zone website checker and they all state that there is no charge for entering the clean air zone, so I can see why they're thinking that.

@Simon Dunn can you confirm if what the Clean Air Zone Checker is saying about these buses is correct?

Have a look at BF02ASZ which is my car, doesn't meet required standard but still says no charge!

You're wrong. There's plenty of cases of vehicles wrongly recorded on the CAZ checker.

Cummins engined Streetlites were available at Euro 5 and were discontinued at Euro 6 in favour of the Daimler unit. These vehicles haven't been upgraded either, as if you search "SO65LRZ" which was 32214, and was scrapped at around 2 years old well before the Clean Air Zone, you will find that this vehicle also has "No Charge".

@Tony  now that's very surprising as I own a 52 reg Focus and that's City Centre compliant so I'm very surprised your car isn't (nice car btw I do like old Rover's)  :cheesy:

* I should add, what this means is whilst the vehicles are not ULEZ/Euro 6, the reality is that if they drove into B'ham, they wouldn't receive a penalty, until the database gets updated.

How does a 2002 car have a euro 4 status when euro 4 wasn't introduced until 2006

It is possible.

Example. A 2011 Mercedes S350 Bluetec meets Euro 6 standard and is therefore ULEZ compliant, despite Euro 6 being introduced in 2014.

Likewise, a 2001 (yes 2001) Nissan Almera with the 1.5 engine is ULEZ compliant. The engine/exhaust meet the requirements.

hlliwmai

Well it must of been compliant @Tony as I used to live in Newtown which as you know is right in the middle of the clean air zone and whilst living there I never received a fine to say my car wasn't compliant either way I've no idea and I don't make the rules

So you don't even know where you live then?
No part of Newtown is in the clean air zone.
