Quote from: RW on April 24, 2024, 03:51:21 PMSorry if this has been asked previously but regarding any future new vehicle orders are NXWM likely to go for ADL's 2nd generation electric buses or will they stick with the ADL/BYD model? The current NX and London General build are the last DD BYDs Alexander Dennis are going to body
Quote from: mranon on April 24, 2024, 07:40:15 AMid of thought that a 67 plate would be euro 6 as most manufacturers were building vehicles to euro 6 from 2015/16. it definitely wouldnt be euro 4, possibly euro 5Just because it's a 67 plate doesn't mean it was built in 2017
Quote from: Marge559 on April 23, 2024, 09:05:08 PMIt would be interesting to know the figures specifically for the 49 and 76, as these are the routes the OP mentioned. Yesterday morning according to the tracking there were 3 buses missing on the 76. I know myself from waiting that the 11:26 journey from Q.E. failed to operate. I am also informed that 4609 was broken down at West Heath island earlier tonight. Not all 'missing journies' are breakdowns. YW had two vandalism broken windows yesterday
Quote from: j789 on April 23, 2024, 09:13:50 PMThe buses with Euro 6 exhaust upgrades, once upgraded will the bus always be classed then as Euro 6 or will the system need continued upgrading through its life due to normal degradation of the system for it to stay as Euro 6?They need the filters cleaning regularly to stay compliant, but if you don't do that it soon ruins the engine
Quote from: Stu on April 23, 2024, 07:10:04 PMAccording to the VRM lookup software we use at work, 467 comes up as Euro4, so will have been retrofitted. It comes up on the 'Brum Breathes' website as 'no charge' which is usually a good sign a bus has had a euro 6 exhaust fitted.
(There must be a separate flag/indicator in the DVLA data that shows if a vehicle has been upgraded to better standards. Our software only shows the Euro standard the vehicle was originally registered with it seems)

Quote from: Straightlines on April 23, 2024, 03:53:26 PMSeems to go unnoticed on here the currently unacceptable reliability of the 49 and 76 services caused by the constant breaking down of 20 year old Tridents.Yardley Wood generally lose around 0.5% of mileage due to engineering (breakdowns or No bus available) below the industry average. DVSA expect a minimum of 99% to run
I know the 'Electric buses are delayed' excuse will be wheeled out - but the question is How much longer will this daily farce go on at the expense of providing a reliable service for the public?
Quote from: darthdc on April 22, 2024, 08:40:24 PMSo they're at Coventry now? The site list hasn't been updated to show this. They're parked at Coventry, but not part of the fleet
Quote from: BBS on April 21, 2024, 05:06:31 PMTFWM made a smart decision putting the 2,3,4,4A,5 and 6 at one stop to terminate. Causes blockage, other buses not able to pass. Would've been better keeping where the 4 was and simply taken the Queensway route like the 45 doesNo they didn't, they put them on two stops, actually in the space that there used to be 3 stops. Leaving the 4 where it was would have extended the running time needed, probably needing an extra bus or reduced frquency.
Quote from: Jay71 on April 21, 2024, 09:38:49 AMIf you don't like the roadworks then complain about them.Stupid reply.
Quote from: BlackCountryBusSpotter on April 21, 2024, 10:14:36 AMWN Hybrids to they are only programed for the 1, X8 and 529 if it needs to be October this year then these will be in service by then otherwise just the Platty's to and not sure about BC's B5TL Hybrids if they would need doingIf you read the thread you will see that it doesn't apply to them this year.
Quote from: Jay71 on April 20, 2024, 02:04:53 PMThe 23/24 now stop on Carrs Lane & outside the Square Peg. Why the need to have two stops so close together?Close together? Perhaps you might try pushing a wheelchair from one to the other through the roadworks then say they were close together
Quote from: Jay71 on April 20, 2024, 04:45:45 PMWill these smaller operators still be around In 2031Not if Manchester is an example
Quote from: Gareth on April 19, 2024, 05:26:41 PMUSB ports can get damaged and vandalized on any service in any area so there's no need to call out specific places. In 2014 when those buses were ordered USBs were no standard anywhere. Most phone chargers were still 3 pin plugs, hence a lot of trains only having 3 pin sockets and not USBs
Platinum was a good concept when new, but after the 2015/16 intake it became the new standard spec for new deliveries and as we can see with current refurbs nothing is being retrofitted. But when Walsall have some more fleet renewal I'm sure you'll see USB features on those routes.
