National Express West Midlands / Voith and ZF
June 21, 2021, 08:57:22 PM
A long overdue question for me but what E400 MMCs are Voith and which ones are ZF?

What is the most vague destination on NX buses?
The ones that I have thought of are:
14 and 97 (should have a qualifier. They go past the main interchange. It's much worse when the 14 gets the occasional short journey to Pine Square and it just says Chelmsley Wood.
24 (Quinton Road West is still in Woodgate Valley North why not just make Quinton Road West a qualifier)
16 (used to have the Green Lane qualifier in the past, don't know why it was removed same with the 97 and 97A when it went to Bluebell Drive).
101 (the weirdest one because to new people it looks like it terminates in the main part of Handsworth)
Feel free to add more of your own.

Know any unique facts about any West Midlands route ? As trivial and boring as you want, but so long as it's unique. Something about a route that is unique in a particular setting, something only it does in its journey or in relation to other routes in its garage or a location along its route. NOT INCLUDED is a particular road that it alone goes along, lots of routes do that.

I'll start:
The 8 (Wolverhampton-Wollaston Farm) serves the most bus stations: Wolverhampton, Dudley, Merry Hill and Stourbridge.

While taking a walk in Small Heath, I came across an old bus stop on St Benedicts Road. On closer inspection, the flag says Travel West Midlands and the service 89 below. (Its hard to see at first glance, the flag is faded apart from a bus logo and the words Bus Stop).
My question is that does anyone know anything about this 89 route?

Does anyone know of a good bus app? The new NXWM app recently shut down (I quite liked it) and the old one is well crap, so does anyone know of a good bus tracking app?

Does anyone know the situation regarding the MMH? Last time I checked, when Carllion went bust another company took over and it's supposed to be finished by next year or 2022 (can't remember the exact year). Anyhoo my question is that when it's finished will the 82/87 be rerouted to serve it directly or will they run the same route as they already do and bring another route (return of the X7?)

National Express West Midlands / February tenders
February 10, 2020, 03:47:06 PM
Just seen of the Diamond thread that NX have won three routes off Diamond:
CV1 and the 108. 28A being a possibility.
Thoughts on these? Maybe NX could potentially change the routes a bit? I.E combine the 28A with the Small Heath extension on the 28 or are two tendered routes not allowed to combine?

Does anyone know the meaning that of the design on the new Iron Lane/Flaxley Road/Station Road island (or roundabout if you're not from the West Midlands)?
For anyone who doesn't know, there's two layers of marble and on top of it there's a couple of trees which are in front of what seems like a mini Stonehenge.
I would love it if someone tells me what it means, I like little designs like these.

National Express West Midlands / BCC Contracts
December 12, 2019, 09:49:56 PM
Does anyone know what the BCC contracts mean?
So far I've seen BCC Moseley, BCC Hockley and BCC Alderman Bowen.
(I understand if you can't tell me, it's probably top secret council work).

Is there a bus app that tracks every bus in the West Midlands regardless of the operator? Because only NXWM and Diamond has one but Igo, Claribels, Thandi and other operators don't have an app so yeah that's my question.

Just out of interest, which of the following routes gets to Dudley quickest:
12/12A,74,87,126 or the X8?
