Quote from: Wumpty on April 10, 2024, 11:00:35 AMI'm sure I remember some city routes had different other letters to signify where in the city centre they stopped.

"E" was the exception and then there were others like D, and F that would indicate other curtailments.

I'll stand corrected and bow to greater knowledge on this.
The Birmingham approach was to give each of the short workings a different letter with A closest to the city terminus and going upwards from there. On the 50 to Maypole letters reached 50K Alcester Lanes End. (50F was Moseley Village, 50J Kings Heath)

Quote from: the trainbasher on March 29, 2024, 07:08:45 PMOr in 1983 that would have been the X92 (according to my WMPTE Feb 1983 North Division timetable book)

Or on Sundays in 1988 the 92 operated by Birmingham Central. I have a photo of Metrobus 2359 climbing to the top of Clee Hill, heading to Hereford!

Quote from: Wba_lad on January 22, 2024, 10:05:38 PMAre the electric that was 6 branded that zenobe have have they been debranded?

Also with the zenobe fleet numbered vehicles how come they are Nx spec inside, if they went to any other company they are Nx seats and spec.
Because they were purchased as spare vehicles for the Electric Transportation as a Service (ETaaS) contract between Zenobe and NX.

History for 2565 is incorrect (looks like 2566 history was copied for 2565). 2565 ended up at WN and went to Yorkshire Traction.

Yes, before the road was resurfaced it was a Metrobus route in the 1990s, before transitioning to more Lynxes then Mercedes in 1997/8.

Looking at the service update article

It states that there was no service on 26th but if you scan down to the Rugby section you find

"Tuesday 26th December - Possible Birmingham routes 41 Saturday service and 46 Sunday service"

Wow talk about being vague!!

5 was a longstanding Wolverhampton Corporation bus route starting almost 100 years ago on 17-Nov-1923.

It became the 15 when route numbers were introduced in 1929 along with 15A to Codsall Wood and 15B to Weston-under-Lizard via Bishops Wood. 15A and 15B became 53 in Jun-1949 and was extended to Blymhill Church in Jul 1949. There was also an 83 service to Bishops Wood via Codsall Wood. The 53 & 83 was transferred to Midland Red 879 & 884 in Dec-1973.

The 63 service to Bilbrook was introduced 27-Feb-1950

Quote from: j789 on September 10, 2023, 07:37:33 PMOn the most recent photo of a Hydrogen vehicle, I noticed the seating listed at 38/25 - 63 seats in total.

What is the reason for these having lower seating capacities than the equivalent diesel bus?
Weight of batteries and hydrogen tanks.

Tony

I thought it was C801CBU and C817CBU that Pete's had not C802, C807? I have records that I caught C817 twice in 1986 on the 74E and 404.

The website is fantastic, thanks for recording vehicles in the west midlands.

Quote from: JPC on July 16, 2023, 06:59:52 PMTo quote from the NX website 'NX daysaver extra' is actually valid... on NX services only to, from or between locations outside the nBus zone - essentially what regional daysaver used to do?.

There still seems to be a conflict/poor clarity from NX in the actual validity of one day nBus which again quoting from the NX website is valid... on all bus operators that are part of the nBus scheme within the West Midlands zone so is this only valid within the nBus area or does it also cover the mapped West Midlands zone i.e everything operated by NX (defeating the purpose of a 'NX daysaver extra') (?)
The wording for the daysaver extra is poor. I think it implies if you buy a daysaver outside of the nbus zone it is a daysaver extra and valid only on NX services.

The wording for the daysaver (purchased inside the nbus zone) states " Unlimited travel for 1 day on all bus operators within the nBus zone and on all National Express buses." Which implies it is available outside the nbus zone on NX buses.
