I was wondering earlier, why are the BC B7RLEs being done now? Surely there are others ahead of them like BY's Scanias for example? Being older vehicles and all, I thought that was how it worked?

The ominlinks was done In 2013/4 and the b7rle have never been done so are first in line

The BC B7RLE were new in 2012 and were pink and faded before repaint.
The BY Omnilinks still look relatively smart in comparison and other than 1833 these were done some time after the B7RLE had entrered service in 2013 - 2014, they were also some of the last buses to be repainted into NX Red and White. They were not new in that livery, they were new in the toothpaste livery - at LH and PB on the 97 and 16.

1836 is first as it had a front end RTC, and has been repaired at Carlyle
4520 I would say has been a long drawn out project it seems , good to see all the pics of the work put into the bus , what is the end game for the gemni now it has a classroom set up on the top deck.

4651 is a triumph well done. Will another be done bct livery , we did have 2 metrobuses in bct livery back in the 90s, the heritage fleet really does liven things up long may it continue.
3088 use to get special treatment from certain drivers at Hockley using there own car cleaning gear on it.

827 could do with being the next PN E200 to be crimsomed, saw it yesterday, looks battered.

No. It has just had a lot of repanelling done. When a bus arrives at Walsall it is given to a bodymaker to do. If he then takes a holiday that bus doesn't get work done on it, so some buses do tend to stay in longer than others some times

The four Omnicitys are all due refurbishment and repaint this year.
4780 is the first now at Walsall, the other 3 will get their crimson treatment after the allover adverts expire

I'm surprised how good it actually looks, I think it would have been difficult to apply Metrobus style WMPTE livery to any other type of vehicle in the fleet. I'm pleased it's been done and it looks good even if it is on the type of bus I despise most.

Think I saw repainted 4834 on Keresley Rd, Coventry in the rain yesterday, so I assume that's back. Don't know if another 48xx has replaced it.

I am a real fan of this livery but I feel that it gets let down by the state of the wheels! I completely understand that this a minor point and not really a significant one! But is there a reason this is? Forgive me if it's an obvious answer and I'm sure cost probably plays a part especially when you see some operators with the chrome wheels but obviously don't have the fleet size NXWM have! Just wondered what other people's opinions are!

NX have alloys on new vehicles, but you cannot just swap wheel types on vehicles

4915 back from paint.
2086 is now back and in service, swapped with 2084.
Is there likely to be an update in this thread soon - last one seems to have been a month or so ago?
I was also wondering whether the paint shop would be dealing with the NX Accessible Transport fleet - if so quite an expansion of workload?
I'd suggest that one will be forthcoming.....

I've been spending a lot of my time for the last few weeks at NEAT sorting out what vehicles are where, applying fleet numbers etc.

1833, despite being an almost orange shade externally, is in very good condition internally. It had a retrim into grey a long time after the rest of that batch, keeping its blue seating after first repaint to red and white. Maybe they're waiting to get their money's worth out of the seating first before sending it for refurb.
Obviously it's going to be sometime before the entire operational fleet will be crimson/blue/Platinum, due to gradual withdrawals of the red & whites that won't be repainted, but is there a projected date for completion, or is it in the 'lap of the gods'?

All but some of the AG and WB volvos have been trapped so they will last a couple more years.
Same with some of the YW 43xx .
The remaining red and white Gemini's will probably be next along with the untrapped YW tridents and the untrapped Volvos.
We are sadly approaching the end of another era for these buses. Miss the 0405ns already especially the 15xx-1630 series.

They are all trapped. That was the whole point they were swapped with 43** Tridents, they're over a year younger so have more life left in them, so they were swapped and 43**'s were sent to WN where they is currently no emission regulations, some of these have since been retired.

Yes and no. PB's red and whites are E200s that run on the 54/A and Scania deckers which will both be crimsoned soon. My bet is on BC. The 36 will be passed onto Claribels in less than 2 weeks so 4366 and 4367 will either be withdrawn, sent back to the reserve fleet or to go to WN, WA, PN or even CV. Plus there are E400s that will be probably be crimsoned by the end of the month.
Central have a number of 14 plate Enviros which are in red and white. I can't see it being them.
It's gotta be perry Barr cause there's a few E200s and a few omnidecks left in the wedge livery

How come WN's B7RLE'S return from "refurb" with dirty interiors, re-trimmed seat squabs that aren't the same size, damaged seat backs that haven't had the damage rectified and tip up seats that haven't been put back on straight? In one case, one tip is seat was a good inch and a half higher than the one next to it
Also, when are the crusty interiors on the hybrids going to be tidied up?

Bear in mind I don't live in the West Mids now so am out of touch but I would think Streetlites to PB, 762-4 to the Black Country and 4777/78 to the paint shop?
4779 is already out in service. Spotted on the 67 earlier. Looks much better than red/white or red/white/blue.

When you say "crusty", what do you mean? Granted, some of the lighter blue interiored ALX400 bodies look terrible as they've worn considerably over the years, but didn't think the Hybrids and their interiors had suffered the same way.

4778 is also ready to go back to PB and hopefully replaced by 4777 eliminating red/white from PB allocated vehicles
There's a platinum in westbroms body repair bay with nearly every panel on the left side being replaced ,all the lower panels upto the back wheel replaced , upper panel above doors replaced , nearly ready for prep and paint. I assume this the one that got side swiped on the 9 service.

Unless it's had a recent touch up, I doubt whether it's had a full repaint given it's very limited life expectancy.

Late Saturday night passing the workshop bays I noticed an ALX 400 in the body shop bay I only saw the front it was in TWM livery with left corner bumper in red.

4125 it is seen a post on FB it's one of the Walsall buses in the old TWM
I was beginning to wonder if PN 829, and CV 4830, 4835 and 4842 had missed the refurb boat? Are they likely to be done soon? I guess some of the PN B7RLEs are some of the oldest unrepainted vehicles as well.
