I'm the latest newbie on this site as of this morning, so I'm just breaking myself in at the moment after reading the site rules.
I didn't know about this site until I came across it while surfing the internet for some info on a bit of WMPTE memorabilia I purchased off e-bay.
I've read some good posts on here so far and would definitely be interested in the visit mentioned to AG depot if it goes ahead, especially after I missed the joint YW & AG open day in October 2013.
So thanks for accepting me as a member and I'll enjoy reading and posting on this site going forward. :)

Nope. Hardly any follow the 'post in 14 days or your gone' rule. Many just create an account and then linger around. I keep Winston busy with the reports so it does have its advantages hhaha

Yes I am a member of various forums being both a bus and railway enthusiast and do tend to use similar usernames.
I am a driver for First Midland Red at Worcester and can normally be found on various routes around Worcester except those to Halesowen & Tewkesbury.
Always prepared to give a smile if someone is photographing a bus I happen to be driving. I believe one or two members of this forum have photographed me over teh last few months although I have not been able to find many photos of myself online

Just a short intro for i do not know anybody here yet. I'm Desmond, from Singapore and I now study in the University of Birmingham. I found the fleetlist to be of a great help to familiarise myself with the nxwm fleet and hence stumbled upon this forum.
I love the buses here and am enjoying my time spotting and photographing them. I used to have a fotopic account years ago for all my singapore and hongkong bus photos but as you'd know the fate of fotopic...
Am currently rebuilding another flickr account soon...

Just dipping my toe into these waters again...
My bus-following days were the WMPTE/WMT early 80s to mid 90s, filled with (mostly) blue and cream or blue and silver Metrobuses and Fleetlines. I'm afraid I just can't get excited about today's multi-coloured buses that all look almost identical and these mammoth routes that go on forever (there seems to be a 27 wherever I go in south Birmingham!).
Am I allowed to get all nostalgic here, or have I just damned myself by saying that...?

While looking to see if there is a history of WMPTE fleet list came across a post from a while ago which had a fleet list in four parts (or more). I couldn't find the fleet list attachments to open. Bit of a computer novice perhaps its because i am on an Apple computer , not sure can anyone help?

Hi, my name is Chris, a 47 year old former MBF member, Stagecoach and Travel West Midlands driver originally from Coventry and now in Kenilworth.
I have briefly seen the website and love a lot of the pics - WOW!, with me being a former bus driver I decided to collect model buses based on Coventry vehicles over the years and change existing model wherever possible to Code 3's too try and fill a gap for Coventry Transport/West Midlands models, sometimes for others but mainly for myself.

@TheVolvoWhisperer I do miss the Metrobus on the 11 at AG, used on there daily till the end. I do miss the Presidents at AG and on the 11 now as well, it is nice to see 4044 on the 844 and some of the others still in daily use with Green Bus on there school services in the West Midlands though.

Thank you 2206, I was a fan of the Presidents too even though I do prefer the B7/ALX, it would still have been nice for a few presidents to keep going a little longer.

Hi, found this forum by chance googling old West Midlands buses and decided to join and join in the interesting conversations.
A bit about myself, I'm female, and while I'm not really as much of a enthusiasts most of you, I've always been interested in travelling on buses since my school days and enjoy days of just riding round on local buses.
I hope to get to Wythall this year as I would love to travel on some of their '70's and '80's buses and bring back good memories.
I like the Metrobuses, they were on most of the routes I used growing up.

I have had a connection with the West Mids for over 20 odd years and a former resident of Kings Heath, moved back down South due to family health issues, however early next year Feb/Mar time I will be moving back up to the area again. Not decided where yet...
Been about 4 years since I last visited the area, however I will back up next week for a couple days for a visit and a catch up on what is new since my last visit. I do majority of my spotting/Haulage in and around London, needing only a hand full of 67 plates and 18 plates for sightings everything up to that I have seen.
I hope I will be able to contribute to this forum in the near future for now I will just be keeping up with things.
