I've only seen it today about new buses for Sandwell. Which bus company is it please as the story was in last nights Express and Star. If anyone has read the story I would be happy to find out the company.

Thanks Martin.

Around 20 new buses worth £3 million for NX West Bromwich to be delivered in 2014. No mention of routes or single / double deck.

Doesn't sound as though it is for an upgrade of Dudley Road vehicles then, as the pvr would take all 20 of those buses due

£150,000 is the about the price of a full size single deck? 20 of those would be £3 million.

Yes £150k was about right for new single deckers or £120k for new E200's, double deckers were around £180k. Euro 6 has made them all more expensive I understand, so not sure on what the new prices would now be

Hopefully it's deckers, cause WB could really do with some, but at the same time, the Mercs and B6s are aging..

Thanks to uniquicity for scanning the article; it's strange because something like this would normally appear on their website, under the 'Transport' news section.

Is it me or does the article suggest that these new buses may be more single deckers (to cover for an increase in passengers using local services). I wouldn't call the 74 or 87 local services?
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

I'm guessing its direct replacements for Merc's (Euro6 version of B7RLE's?)

Or more E200's to allow the remaining B6LE to be withdrawn
