For anyone it matters too, the X50 has a demonstrator Enviro 400H on i for trials by Johnsons. This should be here for today and tomorrow.

I've seen that, I wondered what company it was from,

Personally think Jhonsons should buy some of these

Why?  Hybrids save fuel on stop-start routes...

Good news then, Nathan.  Johnsons have obtained a Green Bus Fund grant for up to 8 hybrids, including some double deckers, for use in Birmingham and Stratford.  It's the second news item here - http://www.johnsonscoaches.co.uk/news.php?pageNum_News=1, and also here - http://www.busandcoach.com/newspage.aspx?id=6591&categoryid=0

Unless something unexpected happens, surely the double decks will be for the X20?

danny

Don't hybrids work better on stop start routes, the x20 is quite a none stop route. Great news though guessing itil be enviro 400h's

Hopefully a mix of Volvo B5HL's & Envrio400H

Its very unlikely they would split such a small order.

Stu

The article states that Johnson's will be buying only 4 double-deck hybrids, so it is more likely all four will be of one type.

You can hope all you like, as Johnsons recently had an ADL Enviro 400H on loan, its more likely this type they will purchase.

I like the b5hl they look quite quirky. And like the fact you hear the engine kick in.

I was down in London, and there seemed to be loads of Gemini 2 hybrids down there. Couldn't work out if they were B5LHs or the bigger B9TLs. Caught them on the 73 (Victoria - Stoke Newington) and 149 (London Bridge - Edmondton Green), and saw them on the 476 (Northumberland Avenue - Euston Station), all operated by Arriva.

B9TL are not hybrids so are easy to tell the difference

Thanks, I've only been on one B5LH up here, they just seemed bigger down in London.
