4489 was doing it last week. Shame they have the boring fans fitted, just makes them boring. 4508 is still on my 'to ride' list!
Will have to hunt 4482 as well before it goes for Crimsoning, that's the only red/white Gemini left at PB that blasts its Cooling Fans.

You'll like 4508. It's one of my favourites to drive

Lol, I asked an 11 driver about 4508 and said it's horrible to drive, horrible brakes. He did say 4512 is a good one. 4512 is just a big shed on wheels, everything about it is slow.

Bloody hell really? I drove it two years ago so it must have gone downhill since then. I loved it. Infact everything was fresh on it when I drove it. It had a new steering wheel fitted to it when I drove it. 4511 was a slow on. 4512 doesn't ring any bells, but obviously it's been two years in December since I was driving for NXWM

4523 is my favourite 45** 11 Branded. In fact 4515 is the shed of that batch, that one at PB was criticised by the drivers and AG drivers seem the same. The 5 and 31 will always be my favourite routes, don't mind riding them on the 1 or 37 either. Though the 5 and 31 go through nice areas and tight roads. Monkspath, Newborough Road, Kedleston Road, Springfield and Bradford Street. The 31 isn't bad, Gospel Oak isn't the greatest but it's better than others. Pitmaston Road, Severne Road, Westley Road and Shaftmoor Lane (which you can fly down!) I miss the Presidents on the 31 and 37.

People are going to start complaining that this is off topic soon 😂

Shaftmoor Lane outbound is awesome if there's nobody getting on or off the first stop. With kickdown, the gearbox will hold in fourth gear at just under 30MPH. It won't change up at that incline and will stay at the same speed. When you next stop, the bus will idle and then as soon as you touch the accelerator, you'll hear the cooling fans start spinning up and then it'll roar. I'm guessing you're talking about Shaftmoor Lane inbound, which is equally as fun providing you're not on time or early and have to wait at the timing point at Stratford Road/College Arms.

When you want to go downhill (I used to do this at Marsh Hill & Bournville towards Cotteridge.) Floor it until you get to that same point, just under 30 in fourth gear and time it so as you start declining down the hill, let go of the accelerator and don't touch the brake. It'll hold the bus at just under 30. The bus won't speed up even though you're going downhill because it can't rev anymore without changing up, and it won't change up because you're not near the accelerator. The howling the gearbox does at this point is magical.

They're like instruments, these ZF B7TLs. Sorry if all this sounds nerdy to anyone 😂

4512 is one of my favourites when it was at WB, 4525 & 4526 too. Haven't been on ex-PB 4515 & 4516

4525 is a good on, only bad thing about 4526 is it has no kickdown, 4531 is a lovely example of a Gemini.

4525 doesn't have kickdown either, or at least it didn't when I drove it

The Crimsons still blast their fans around, 4489 and 4504 are blasting them and 4503.
I've always preferred the 7 over the 65 for many reasons. The 7 is longer but a more interesting route and nice route. Mixture of ALX400's, Gemini's and E400s. The 65 in my opinion is a more boring straight lined route. The 67 isn't too bad,

The 7 is a good route and my local route, just avoid it on villa home days

I do enjoy riding the 7 a lot. I tend to avoid the 7 and 11 when Villa are playing. Nicer route than the 65, which in my opinion, is quite boring.

761 on the 96 today. Just leaving Chelmsley Wood

763 was doing laps up and down Hassop Road earlier today at 15:10. It had 'NIS' on its display and was definitely not in service.

Do you know what 4478 was doing, parked at the 11A stop at the Fox and Goose on Bromford Lane @Tony at about 16:00, had a rear exterior pannel missing as well? You don't usualy see PB buses on Bromford Lane.
Local Routes
