Am I correct in assuming that all WM operated vehicles have an on board
CCTV facility?.. in which case does this option include an Audio of Abuse?
Generally directed at the Driver??.. Maybe the report from the driver of
4519 which had left West Bromwich at 17.56pm (approx) on Thursday 6th July
on a 5 duty heading for Sutton Coldfield encountered three teenage youths
attempting to hitch a freebie from kingstanding circle were allowed to travel to Finchley road where the youths were told to vacate the bus on the grounds of non payment. fortunately as a passenger within spitting distance of the ensuing 'fracas'  my ever present 'pearlcorder' was able to offer a full transcript of the incident where the bus was held for 8 minutes by the driver and refused to continue his/her journey until the youths had left the bus.. under normal circumstances I would have been happy to provide a report but as my previous mail had been ignored The Information was subsequently deleted....  these kids should be BARD

HOORAY!!! Should've gone to specsavers

I have a midland area travel concessionary pass which entitles
me to free bus travel within the english borders. The pass also covers
me for travel by local rail services between Wolves/Stourbridge/
Walsall/Coventry/Dorridge all of which require travel after 09.30am
I was told that in the event of,say,a hospital appointment before 09.30am
it is/was permissable to offer the (bus) driver a single £1.00 'fare'??

I was told that an English concessionary card could be 'topped up' with a minimum credit of ,say £10? is this correct? perhaps more importantly
I assume I would need to approach the 'fares to pay'@ New st ? on the odd occasion I have began a journey before 09.30am I have had no problem through the barriers before 09.30am.

During the official lockdown regulations advance rail booking were
ultimately repaid to their original accounts..   Despite a WMT/LNW web page
that clearly claims to be one of the 'few' Tocs who do NOT charge cancellation fees it would  appear those of us unfortunate enough to have booked a one day advance travel card to London (Euston) inc LUL travel may be asked to pay a £10 admin fee  Which is a bit rich ...even if the specified service actually runs
on the 27th July There is NO guarentee that this 'all in' ticket would be usable on the LUL (as advertised).  I have posted my ticket to their WM Edinburgh  .address .. their suggeston that you pay a 'tracking' fee to the post office?  . At £6? .. really? are they serious?

can someone explain to me how I can get free Wi-fi on west mids buses?
I am a complete novice with smart phones  I have a PAYG chip which
is telling me I have no credit available. despite paying £10 but I haven't made
a call/text yet. I dont have access to the net either so where has all the credit gone ?
I have a BT phone/unlimited broadband facility which should allow me
access to hot spots  or (at least) free access in my own home but that
doesn't appear to be working either   help

I have a registration with the new Avanti booking site and likewise the XC, Chiltern
and WMT booking engines. However Whereas I previously booked with XC and/or
Virgin I had not previously been asked to pay a booking fee to Trainline.  ?
When I recently attempted to make an advance booking with XC, despite
their 'NO Booking fees' claim...I was directed to a payment option via trainline
asking for a 75p booking fee which is added to the fare upfront. This 'additional'
fee was originally charged at the ticket vending machine when You collected
your ticket(s)..? (This fee was easily avoided by asking a desk clerk to print
your tickets at a booking office due to my poor eyesight).
I had a similar result with the  Avanti site. Surprisingly I had NO problem
booking an advance fare with the WMT engine as their fare(s)/ options were
the same and NO requests for booking fees. I will stick with WMT in future.

Is an English national  OAP bus pass application form available  from a post office? My neighbour
is now 65 and he should be eligible for his bus pass. I had mine from Centro House in summer lane many years ago but I don't think the building is occupied by centro anymore?  He will need a photo ID
obviously but is there a WM? office in Birmingham where he can make an application in person?
He is not on line .Thanks

General Discussion & Questions / Southern Rail strikes
January 06, 2017, 06:30:19 PM
Is it just me or are there many other commuters and enthusiasts alike who think this persistence with strikes over the guards dispute needs some government intervention? I hear there has been a suggestion that a group of commuters propose to sue the company for loss of employment due to persistent  strike action. True enough, although I have to agree that passenger safety would indeed be compromised if the train has no supervision it should NOT be the responsibility of the driver to ensure passenger safety. personally I think its time for a compromise..Surely IF the train has three carriages or less and operating local services where there is a ticketing facility available at each station then why not? On the other hand where the booked PVR is of 6,8,or 12 carriages and the curvature of the platform means that the driver has limited visibility and often having to rely on the despatcher(s) then Southern should get their brain in gear. Presumably the present 12 car formations in use with Thamelink on the Brighton-Bedford route have a second man?  >:(

The Archive / Pushchair users v Wheelchair user
November 20, 2014, 01:38:49 AM
In the event of any conflict between occupied pushchair space(s) by mother and child, would a Driver be prepared to carry a wheelchair user on the platform?...at least for a short distance? perhaps to the first available sheltered stop in the event of heavy rain? :-\ :-\  do WM have a company policy? or is there an element of driver descretion? :-\ :-\
