A 2006 Trident really isn't that bad.

You're missing the point here.
Yes there is nothing wrong with a 2006 Trident, but if you went in a shop and paid for a block of Cadburys chocolate, you wouldn't expect to be charged the same price for some rubbish brand that didn't taste as nice. The bus industry in general is waking up to this fact and in general trying to offer the level of quality they are advertising. Occasional substitutions to keep the service running are acceptable to most people, but they are not 'glad' when the cheapo version turns up, just accept it occasionally. When the cheapo version becomes the norm, that's when the passenger numbers start to lose any gains made by bringing in the higher quality service

When travelling on Trent's Red Arrow the driver gave passengers complementary day tickets when the expected coach turned out to be a 10 year old bus seated Optare Solo!

That's your spreadsheet? Blimey that's a lot of effort you've gone to. Very useful for me. Thanks a lot.

Yes, I made on for De Courcey & Diamond as well. I'm glad it's useful.

No gen here, but a bit of chit chat!

Had ex Northampton 39699 for 3 and a half hours today, very very impressed! Much better than the pile of crap 39700, and better than the rest of the Ex Northampton MANs, very impressed.

Plenty of power with a good kickdown, responsive and smooth gearbox, suspension was very nice, brakes took some getting used too but turned out to be extremely smooth for a MAN, and the steering is the best steering on any Nuneaton depot bus. Good bus,  very good bus!
Regards, Ben.

X18/X17 changes-

X18 will now run direct from Warwick to Stratford via the existing X17 route up the A46.
X17 will now run from Warwick to Stratford via JLR, Wellesbourne and Tiddington (same route as the X18)

Both services will keep their every half hour frequency and will create a new, fast link between Stratford and Coventry.
Regards, Ben.
