The PVR has decreased a bit. I certainly remember it being 46 at one time.

I wonder what it was during BCT days and I to WMPTE. Of course then the buses were quite a bit smaller when ran by 'standards'

Also running time was less. When I drove it in the 1980s it was 2 hours late night and Sundays. 2hrs 12 minutes off-peak and up to 2 hours 20 min peak. It is quite a bit more now

It was 44 a few years ago, then 42. Not sure on what it's like within the past 2 years though.

I have been asked to drive at AG next Tuesday, so I have taken a duty on the 966. This will be a new record for me as it will be the first route I have driven from four different garage, and I missed one!

I have driven it from Lea Hall, Walsall, Perry Barr already, Hockley is the one I missed.

I drove 966 at Walsall and hockley

Does the 966 go anywhere near Perry Barr, Hockley or even Walsall for that matter??

I think Walsall ran the route, when it was Walsall - Airport
Erdington/Sutton is not too far from Perry Barr (Perry Barr I think ran the route when it was Sutton - Solihull, and also when it was cut to Erdington)

Also the route used to start from Wolverhampton as a limited stop between Wol - Walsall

The original route was Wolverhampton to Airport via Walsall, Sutton Coldfield & Erdington Jointly run by Lea Hall and Walsall. I drove that full route from Lea Hall with a relief point at Chelmsley Wood.

It was thencut short at Walsall and Lea Hall's work work went to Hockley with a relief point at Erdington. It then became solely a Walsall operated route. When it was extended to Solihull, but cut short at Erdington the old 366 (now 6) route was reinstated to cover the Walsall-Sutton section it transferred to Perry Barr garage, then later moved to Acocks Green garage

Not that bad remember when it went to Wolverhampton it was non-stop Wolverhampton-Willenhall-Walsall so only took 20 minutes then all stops to Sutton Coldfield, non stop to Yenton, non stop to Erdington. All stops to Chester Road M6 motorway bridge and non-stop to Chelmsley Wood town centre via the Collector Road.

In the days when Limited Stop meant Limited Stop. Not like these modern day 9xx series routes.

Tony

Just done my first driving duty at AG for a few years.  How nice to drive quality vehicles like geminis again.  No rattles or squeaks on 9 year old buses. No silly having to hit the brake pedal before pulling away. Nice fast doors.  Just sheer quality compared to Tridents
