Nuneaton running the Cov-Solihull routes, and that section of the X20 is renumbered back to 82, timetables on their website already.

Presumably these routes would eventually have to be electric to be allowed into Coventry?

Also, have had a look at the updated blind sets - the 3 appears to be Lichfield to Streetly.
oooo, let the wild speculation commence
Something covering the *potential* withdrawal of the Diamond 35?

Been seeing a Clarkes coach in Banbury bus station the past couple of mornings, either displaying "National Express" or "Private contract" on the blinds. Keep forgetting to ID it, but mostly posting to see if anyone knows any gen why it's suddenly started coming?

Still can't work out the logic in keeping the St Georges stop and having to have trams run to there instead of all to the rail station

I'd assume they won't be out today

It's a shame they're reducing the Stratford - Banbury services, I thought the area had a real chance of better bus use when Johnson's made the end to end a more clockface hourly service, but so be it.
Does however mean that my already ludicrous Stagecoach West bus pass will get me that bit even further, and I am absolutely fine with that

Quote from: Solo1 on June 29, 2022, 03:29:03 PMHow much dead mileage is it daily from Redditch to Stratford Stagecoach has a depot in Stratford so makes more sense for them to run Stratford/ Leamington services but why Johnsons
Dead mileage doesn't appear to be a concern for Diamond let's be honest, otherwise they'd run the 50 from Redditch and extend journeys there
Potential for some of the Stratford services to transfer to Stagecoach West and run the out of Banbury depot (personal wish, obviously)

Quote from: 2206 on June 23, 2022, 05:55:17 PMThat ones timetabled to start there. No good for the passengers who were waiting for the X2 at Solihull Station though expecting the 14:47 and 15:06 to turn up.
And how many people were waiting at the station?

Quote from: IMarkeh on June 15, 2022, 02:10:54 AM853 is will be withdrawn as of 24th July according to VOSA/Traffic Commissioner. Whatever you want to call it.
There was mention at some point last year of Oxfordshire's S2 extending to covering it, given it's the same route to Witney

Edit:
There's a new registration for this route on the Stagecoach Oxfordshire license, so that likely has something to do with it

It almost looks like the road itself has been widened a bit there, maybe to facilitate two way traffic?

Quote from: Ginger66 on June 08, 2022, 08:09:07 PMThe 80% comment was not meant to mean it was 80% but as a ballpark figure.  What I was trying to say was if the vast majority of tickets are either smartcard (swift/oyster) /mobile etickets.  Then surely you will have to look at your business profile and how you sell your products.  But I agree the ticket office do more than just sell tickets they provide travel advice.

Alas, even providing travel advice looks like becoming a thing of the past these days, regular folk just Google a route & use Trainline for mobile tickets. Personally I hate both, neither of them knows things they just know data

Quote from: 2206 on May 29, 2022, 07:01:20 PMDiamond site said they take over today as well.
https://www.diamondbuses.com/west-midlands/bus-services/x50-birmingham/

Presumably they put the wrong date down as it won't actually start running till Thursday (Bank Holiday).
Yeah that caught me out as well. I was hoping to see the first Diamond bus in my neck of the woods, but it was still Johnsons on the X50 yesterday and the first morning journeys out of Banbury either not running because of half term or just didn't turn up

Quote from: Tony on May 25, 2022, 12:23:38 PMVery few people make a journey by bus, but do not go back later. The thrufare that was 50p and valid for an hour when it was launched in the west midlands was before day tickets were available
I beg to differ on the "very few" bit to an extent. I've done it myself numerous times & I know a number of people who do similar for an evening out (20ish minute bus into town and use the same single on the app to get a Broad St bus a few stops, then have to get a taxi home because lol no night buses). Obviously it's not going to be loads and loads of people and anecdotes do not make data etc... but there is a genuine use for it and people do use it that way, regardless of how "few" people do it.

Also, obviously this isn't London where such practice is more commonplace because the 1 hour limit is the standard fare for buses full stop.

I did wonder about these tickets, tried to get an evening saver on the app on Friday but it had disappeared. Nothing on the website about these being discontinued.
To be honest, £4 still ain't bad for a multi trip ticket.
Maybe something more could be made of the single journey thing though. A single on the app is valid for half an hour, which I have previously made use of by having to make a single journey that involved 2 buses. If that was made into an hour similar to the TfL bus fares it would benefit people more, as a lot of people do just make such single "journeys" out of multiple buses

Quote from: GoldenSquid on May 18, 2022, 07:29:48 PMDoes Johnson's bus have a day ticket that allows you on the whole network?
Yes, £11, used it last in November myself.
The drivers might take a while to find it on the ticket machine because they never sold them much but it does still exits, best to ask them for an "£11 day ticket" they might be able to work it out
