So what's the difference between a Meridian and an Eclipse?

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

They are essentially the same, except the Meriden is built on the MAN NL273F chassis.

Hope that helps?

Why isn't the body named the same though?

The ALX400 is the same across the board on different chassis so I'm puzzled as to why this Wright product is any different. And the ALX400 has more noticeable changes on different chassis than the Eclipse/Meridian

The only slight cosmetic differences is the windows towards the back of the bus.

There's also the Wright Eclipse Solar, which is on a Scania chassis. And then the Wright Eclipse Metro which is the Volvo B7L chassis (engine on its side).

Surely it should be called Wright Eclipse Meriden as opppsed to Wright Meriden.

You would then have:
Wright Eclipse Urban- B7RLE/B8RLE
Wright Solar-L94UB
Wright Meriden- MAN NL273F

Precisely. So it all come under the 'Eclipse' brand just slight variations when the chassis are different.

Thanks for your assistance @Nathan and @MW

No - Eclipse only relates to Volvos

The only vehicles which are Eclipse are
Eclipse Urban on Volvo single decks
Eclipse Gemini on Volvo double decks
