Is 4007 at Miller Street then? Will it just be broken for spares and then scrapped?

Yes it is. Does stripping of withdrawn vehicles have to be done at Miller St, or could it be done at Park Lane. I do fund it strange that 4007 has been brought to Miller St, as only Wolverhampton operate Spectras, and the spares could easily be taken off there for the others instead of transporting them from Birmingham

I would think it not practical to keep at WN because it would take up valuable space, if parts were to be taken off and it became grounded it may have to stay on a pit or in the garage. I would guess it would be easier to move the bus about in Miller Street than at WN and at Miller Street they strip everything usable and then store in bins or shelves and the remains then go to scrap. They probably don't have the facility to do this at WN

With the following also at Walsall on 1/11/13:

Is is safe to assume the remainder will be at LH? There could also be another clearout of scrap looming with the withdrawals following all 26 E400's entering service

1540 is not on either of those lists. Has it been returned to service at Pensnett, following 1658's fire?

Don't think so Matt unfortunately, 1658 has probably saved another younger Merc from biting the dust, well for this week at the least. i would expect another couple of Tridents to arrive this weekend, 4350 & 4352 are no doubt due, but am wondering how many more Tridents will tranfer from YW.
Pensnett is my local garage. Favourite bus of all time is Fleetline 6360 (KON 360P).

Do you mean it saved another older Merc from biting the dust?

Good, travelled on 1518 today, pulled well and idled smoothly, better than the B5 hybrids in fact!

One thing Daimler Mercedes Benz are good at is producing excellent Diesel engines, I do miss the sound of the 0405n for all its faults you couldn't knock that 12 litre engine.

Yes very much so, with the driver lowering the step at almost every bus stop and then it raising again as we pulled off, the only thing that showed its age were the poles and grab rails that made it look quite scruffy inside but all seats were nicely refurbed in the previous moquette to the dots

'Jelly buses' I call em some of them wobble around all over the place when they are lowered. One side goes down then the other goes up the other then goes down which doesn't seam to actually achieve a lot, hardly surprising there are so many platform incidents  :o

Shame 1435 is withdrawn; one of my fav buses. Does anyone know what has happened to 1441; in that list I don't see it so had it already gone for scrap or sale?

I love 1518, one of my favourites. Notice how it has retained all of its seat grab rails too, the rails on the back to back seats over the rear wheel arches caused problems when the Mercs were new as folk were getting their hands trapped between them so one set was removed on each side to prevent this but all these years later 1518 still has a full set! The poles and grab rails certainly need a rub down and repaint but overall one of the best Mercs still about.

Withdrawn in April 2012. Still on Tonys fleetlist listed as withdrawn, so is still about parked up
