I know it's not strictly a withdrawn vehicle as it had already gone to The Bus Works but I saw former 4534 in Peterborough on Monday morning on a school service, the blind suggested it was with Nationwide Coaches of Peterborough, saw quite a few of their coaches coming off schools on Monday morning also.

Quote from: LiamsTransport1 on January 03, 2024, 02:47:57 PMI think these will be the last transfers until the new units come in now as stated in the Rail mag which had the information about these two units going this month.

Hopefully the impact won't be too major
Think there was more than one short formed today, the 1715 Redditch was only a 3 car so many left behind (that service wasn't mentioned on the WMR app as short formed) luckily the 1723 Bromsgrove behind was 6 car.

And the A6 timetable I had.

I've found copies of a few of these timetables, 37A, 38Y, 81Y, 92Y and A6.  Can't say for definite whether there were additional changes to these services after these timetables but hope they are useful. Don't have the 102 although remember it well as I was living off West Boulevard at the time when it started, must have been around 2006.

Just had 4730 on the 0957 76 from the QE to Kings Heath which wasn't tracking. Card reader wasn't working either when I boarded either.

At around 1640 this evening I saw an E400 and a B5LH on the 45/47 following each other along Mary Vale Road in Bournville heading towards Linden Road. Guessing there must have been a problem between Stirchley and Cotteridge Island.

These Solos are longer ones so maybe they need shorter buses, is that one of the Solos on Speke contracts?

The Traveline South West site is still working and has the West Midlands data within in, so use the route map link and you should be able to put in any service and get the route, in both directions if different. Road names seem to show up pretty well in their mapping and you can zoom in and out.

Don't know if there was a problem on the Bristol Road earlier on today but 6870 on the 63 came past me on Woodlands Park Road in Bournville earlier this morning, must have been around 1015 or so when I was walking up there. As Tony posted that one isn't tracking at present so couldn't see what was going on!

Hello Simon,

I have just boarded the X20 at Hampton in Arden station to go to Coventry with a Daytripper issued at the station. Driver of 40844 has flatly refused the ticket saying because it doesn't have 'n' at the start it's not valid. I've used rail issued Daytrippers on many occasions on Diamond Bus and this is the first time it has been refused. I had to pay the £2.40 single to Coventry which I was not happy about but he was having absolutely none of it

Not sure there is much that can be done but I think the drivers need to be aware that rail issued Daytrippers are valid etc.

Thanks, Rowley

:D

It's not that long of a climb in terms of length isn't it, but it's the steepness of it that catches a few out, even though a few would have rode it in training before the tour.

The route that i caught was the Sheffield-Meadowhall[think the route number was 36], i see the route has been now partly replaced 32/32A but only uses some of the length, & 95A which uses the full length of Jenkin Road

Yes, the various services to/from Sandstone Road have changed quite a lot over recent times but as you say, the 95A runs the full length of it, although it's only in the last 5 to 10 years there has been a service along the full length. Think I wheeled my bike up and down there a few times as a kid but there was no way I could have ridden it up there!

I've been on a bus up the notorious hill that is Jenkin Road in Sheffield, this has a max gradient of 14.1%, with an average gradient of 11%, this was used in stage 2 of the 2014 Tour De France[the first 3 stages were held in England], & was a categorised climb[category 4] which was called cote de Jenkin Road for the race. ;D.

Indeed, Jenkin Road is one of the steepest roads in Sheffield, I know having grown up at the bottom of it!  In the mid 90s Sheffield Omnibus ran up part of it, Atlantean or National thrash up there was just crazy.  In more recent years First have run up the steepest part of it but generally it's Streetlites and B7/B9 haulage which seems to manage it OK. Watched Le Tour pass pretty much by my parents house, fair to say some of the riders clearly didn't appreciate that sort of climb at the end of a spectator type stage!

HST started this morning at totems. Usually these trains are stabled up north. Any idea why this is different today?

Presume you mean Totnes? Rail bridge was hit by a lorry in Plymouth earlier in the week so the line is part closed.

I've no idea whether National Express coaches are on the same sort of system but 272 BU18OTJ has just left Digbeth on a service to Bristol and that isn't tracking!
